Co-founder of GHOST PICTURES, Andrew de Groot is one of Australia’s most notable cinematographers. Andrew’s dedication, passion and experience has seen him involved in the development of projects as a producer and cinematographer. Andrew has produced eight feature documentaries, most of which he has also photographed. He received an AFI nomination for his first feature as Director of Photography on Strikebound and photographed further features for Richard Lowenstein, including Dogs in Space and He Died With A Felafel In His Hand, John Hillcoat’s To Have & To Hold, and Lynn-Maree Milburn’s documentary Memories & Dreams, which won the AFI Open Craft award. The tele-feature Call Me Mum, which he photographed, also won the AFI Open Craft award. Recent credits include as Cinematographer/Producer are Ecco Homo, In Bob We Trust, Autoluminescent: Rowland S. Howard and We’re Livin’ on Dog Food and as Producer the feature documentary Ben Lee: Catch My Disease. He has received numerous awards including Gold ACS awards for his feature, documentary and renowned international music video work.
